Health & Safety

Vancouver Island West School District 84 promotes occupational health and safety in the workplace to protect workers and other persons present at District worksites from work related risks to their health and safety.  Each worksite has specific employees dedicated to ensuring a healthy and safe work environment by conducting regular inspections, communicating and investigating.  As well, one representative from each worksite sits on the District OH&S Committee, which meets throughout the year.

District Earthquake Safety Committee

The District Earthquake Safety Committee shall review all worksite plans on an annual basis and will assist each Supervisor in applying those plans, when necessary.  The District Earthquake Safety Committee shall include one Trustee, the Superintendent/Secretary-Treasurer or designate, the Associate Director of Human Resources, the Operations Supervisor, and one Principal.
